Friends of St. John’s UMC:
Notice in response to COVID-19: Coronavirus pandemic
The leadership of the church decided Monday night to suspend all activities and close the church for the rest of March. This may be extended if circumstances continue with the PUBLIC HEALTH STATE OF EMERGENCY declared for Iowa by the governor. Church leaders will be meeting next on March 30 to assess the state of emergency and update our decision to close into the next month or not.
The choice to worship does not depend upon access to a building. I invite you to stay connected with your congregation and join in for worship. Worship will continue from St. John’s UMC but, it will look different.
You can find updates of our status on Facebook and we will be sending emails regularly. The church office will be open to facilitate communication during this crisis. You may call between 9:30 and 2:00 weekdays if you have a question or concern.
Closure of the church will start March 17, 2020:
Sunday Worship – Starting March 22 @ 10:00 – we will be live streaming on Facebook
Event Cancelations & updates:
Need Help at this time? Willing to Offer a hand to others?
If you are healthy and want to help someone who may be in need due to health risks or other factors, please give the church office a call. (563-324-5278) If you need help or assistance in the coming weeks, we would love to help. Please call the office and we will try to arrange for help.
Thank you for your patience during this season of crisis. None of us have ever gone through a global pandemic. Please join us in praying for our church, our cities, our nation, our government and each person affected by the coronavirus. Future updates and additional changes will be relayed as they happen. Thank you for your constant prayers and understanding as we work hard to BE the church.
