Good morning members and friends of St. John’s UMC!
This coming weekend worship will be on the radio again @ 9:00 on station 1420 am; and live streamed on Facebook @ 10:00. It is available as well at 10:05 on our website and YouTube.
Scripture text: Genesis 7:1-5 and Hebrews 11:6-7
Message: "Waiting Faithfully—Having Faith Like Noah" (Pastor Jeff)
We’ve been closed for 40 days. Our church building. Our community. Waiting for much of anything is difficult for us. We have microwaves so we don’t have to wait for food. Microwaves give us quick service, instant results. 40 days is a long time to endure. Some folks aren’t doing so well during this season of shutdown. We experience anxiety, isolation, and the urge to binge on things to fill our emptiness. We are left craving time with friends and family. So how do we cope with this continuing period of required closure?
We’ve been closed as a church for 40 days. The number 40 is special in Scripture. Noah endured 40 days and 40 nights of rain. This Scripture might have something to offer us as we go through this extended period of waiting. Let’s explore together how we might practice a faith like Noah.
I invite you to listen in on Sunday at one of the times listed above.
