Good morning members and friends of St. John’s UMC!
This coming weekend worship will be on the radio again @ 9:00 on station 1420 am; and live streamed on Facebook @ 10:00. It is available at 10:00 as well on our Website & YouTube.
Scripture text: Matthew 6:26-34
Message: God can help us find our way through this anxious time (Pastor Jae)
How are you doing in your battle with worry and anxiety? Pastor Jae has been waiting to hear about his visa renewal status since October, but no notice has been received. He shares about his own struggle in waiting for this to be approved and invites us to trust God with the details of our lives as well.
Scripture calls us to trust God for each day (give us this day our daily bread) and reminds us our relationship as Children of God (see how God cares for all of creation? And are you not worth more than each little sparrow?). You have worth and value in God’s sight. This Scripture passage gives us something to hold onto in the dark nights of the soul.
I invite you to listen in on Sunday at one of the times listed above.
Pastor Jeff
PS: Please pray for Pastor Jae and family that his visa renewal would be processed soon. Pray that Jesus would give them peace of mind as they wait faithfully for the response to this application.
Announcements: Upper Room devotionals for May will be available on Monday at 2 locations (1) you can drive by the Perry Street portico at the church and pick up a copy from a tub at the entryway—and you may pick up copies for friends. (2) those on the East side of the QCA may come by Pastor Jeff’s home to pick up a copy.
Please remember The Center in your offering and gifts to the church. Pennie is maintaining meals to the homeless each weekday. You can offer a frozen casserole to help or a financial gift to assist with ongoing operating costs. May God bless your week.
